Meet our Teachers

 

Director:

Becky Tartline  — This is Becky’s eleventh year as the Preschool Director. Before that she nurtured the children in the Little Lambs class for nine years! She has a B.A. in English from Gettysburg College and a master’s degree in education from Millersville University. She has taught high school English as well as writing classes at HACC. Her adult son and daughter are both graduates of St. Timothy’s.

 

Little Lambs:

Kate Piccolo  — This will be Kate's second year teaching at St. Timothy's. She received a bachelor's degree in English Literature from the University of Pittsburgh. Following college, Kate spent two years serving with AmeriCorps, teaching English as a Second Language and traveling around the United States. After this she returned home and worked for seven years for the Department of Human Services for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Since then, Kate has been a stay-at-home mom. Her youngest, Silas, is a graduate of St. Timothy's. Kate loves spending time with kids and is eager to meet the Little Lambs class this year.

Mackenzie Boyd   — This is Mackenzie’s first year teaching at St. Timothy’s. She has over 15 years of childcare experience. For the past 11 years she was a private nanny of two St. Timothy alumni. Mackenzie and her husband have two daughters. Their oldest daughter graduated from St. Timothy’s last year and will be starting kindergarten this fall, and their youngest daughter is thrilled to be starting in the Little Lambs class this year! In her free time, Mackenzie enjoys spending time with her family, reading, cross stitching and traveling all over the world. She is very excited to start this transition from nanny to teacher!

 

Teddy and Panda Bears:

Erin Deschane  — Erin began teaching at St. Tim’s in 2016. She earned a bachelor's degree in marketing from Baylor University in Texas where she grew up. She worked for a technology company in Dallas as well as an advertising agency in Washington, D.C. before becoming a stay-at-home mom to 2 daughters, now ages 16 and 14. Both are graduates of St. Timothy and loved how warm and welcoming it was. Erin loves bringing that environment to the Teddy and Panda Bear families!

Joy Harbold  — This is Joy’s fifth year teaching at St. Tim’s. She majored in fine art at HACC and enjoyed student teaching in an elementary art classroom, as well as teaching swimming lessons and summer camp. She then earned her bachelor's degree in communications from West Chester University and went on to teach English and Art at a high school in Florida. She moved home to Pennsylvania primarily to be a stay-at-home mom to her children as well as to host occasional mobile paint nights. Joy has 3 children, two daughters who graduated from St. Timothy’s, and a son who will be attending St. Timothy's this year. Joy is excited to play, learn, and grow with the Teddy and Panda Bears classes this year!

 

Lively Lions:

Brittney Coyle   — This will be Brittney's fourth year teaching at St. Timothy Preschool. She spent two years working with the Little Lambs before moving to the Lively Lions. Prior to that, she served on the St. Timothy Parent Board while her two daughters attended preschool. Brittney has enjoyed working with children since she was a teenager. She currently serves on the PTO Board at her daughters' school, as well as volunteers her time as a Girl Scout Leader and parent helper at a local dance studio. Brittney received a bachelor's degree from Shippensburg University. She is looking forward to teaching the Lively Lions as they prepare for kindergarten!

Leah Farabelli   — This is Leah’s fourth year at St. Tim’s. Before that, her career was in Human Resources, and she spent almost 20 years in the banking industry, including 16 years at PNC Bank as a learning facilitator. She has taught Sunday School, has been a Girl Scout leader, and was a room parent for many years. During the last ten years she has been babysitting her growing grandchild team, including three grandchildren who graduated from St. Tim's. She is very excited to help teach the Lively Lions class this year!
